Color Splash (July 18 - August 4)

As we are pushing into the beginning of the finishings, it is time to start finalizing some paint colors. While I consider myself to have a pretty good eye for design, I have always seemed to struggle with picking paint. This time around though, it seems to be coming pretty easily to us. I hope it all all looks pretty good on a large scale :).  We have been pulling paint swatches from Lowes and Home Depot since we signed on the dotted line, but I recently stopped by Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams and fell in love with some of their colors. Sherwin Williams even gave me their color fan of every paint color they make (Merry Christmas in July to me)! We went and purchased a couple of testers and tried out some of the exterior colors last weekend and the interior colors this past weekend. Here are our final (well nothing is final until it is paid for and on the walls hehe) colors...
Clockwise: BM mantis green and BM revere pewter; Valspar pale jade; BM revere pewter and SW sea salt; Valspar freckles
The end of last week and this weekend also marked the beginning of some major finishings. The floor tile has been laid, the fascia is finished, the shake shingle over the garage is finally up (just waiting for the shake over the entry), the columns are wrapped and trimmed, and they have started on the door casing and baseboards.  We have been pretty stressed out lately with all of the decisions, hammering out details with our contractor, and budgeting, but it is nice to see it all start to come together and see that the process really is working.
