Well, after 5 months and enormous amounts of stress and wine drinking, we closed on our beach side/marsh front property and future dream home. After stumbling across this picture perfect tree filled property on the way to our favorite park, Adam called me at work and simply stated that he had finally found our forever home. After months of searching and thinking that we had seen everything on the market, I was intrigued and excited to say the least. After seeing that our "forever home" was a 1.72 acre plot of land, I was surprised, skeptical, and super excited....was I finally going to make my "dream home" Pinterest board come to life?
It took a few weeks of negotiations, and invaluable help from our amazing realtor Kathy Weigmann (right), before we signed our first home contract on September 13th, 2013. We then dove in head first with our designer pulling inspiration (resulting in a very large inspiration binder of course) and drawing up plans. The loan process was daunting to say the least, and probably added about 100 gray hairs to our heads, but after several contract extensions, paperwork submissions, and feeling like our life was on trial, we officially closed on February 14th, 2014 (Happy Valentines Day to us!)
We took a long awaited deep sigh of relief then cheersed to the excitement ahead as we embarked on the next stage of this adventure. Meetings with plan designers and loan officers has quickly changed to meetings with our builder and kitchen and flooring experts. We have started this blog in the hopes of documenting this exciting adventure and dream come true and possibly giving y'all some fabulous home inspiration. We hope you enjoy the ride with us!
